Brother Stair teaches that David was a rascal, a bad man, yet God said he had a heart like Gods.  This has been emphasized with the airing of some very old message from Brother Stair’s past where he is preaching on David’s sin.  [Editors note: Brother Stair got on the David bandwagon after his adultery came out in 2001 and he searched whether a prophet had ever sinned like this. Brother Jackson mentioned that David was called a prophet once. From there this David flag has been flying.]

The Proper Order

Let us examine the timeline of David.  When did God declare David to have a heart that sought after God?  It was long before he sinned with Bathsheba and had her husband killed.  That sin got David judged by God for the rest of his days.  Was this ‘rascal’ David seeking after God with his whole heart?  Would he have committed this sin if his heart was after God?  We know the answer to that is no, David did not have a heart after God then and that is what caused him to fall.  The order of these events is important.

The Tails of the Timeline

So why would someone teach that David had God’s heart and God’s approval while David was committing adultery and murder?  They are covering something in their own lives and trying to justify it through Davids sin.  Using Gods love of David to justify his sin.  All the time forgetting the final end of David after these events, because of Gods judgment upon David for these sins.

Davids Repentance

David did not repent saying I have sinned when he was confronted with his sin.  Rather David passed harsh judgment upon another as if he himself was innocent.  Still trying to hide his sins.  Lifted up in his pride that he was still Gods anointed man of the hour.  David was under the false illusion that he could commit sin and it would not change his relationship with God.  That his sin didn’t matter to God.  Because he was God’s anointed, that alone would protect him.  It didn’t.

What Saith The Word

There are many more examples of this in scripture.  Look at  Saul, David, Hophni & Phinehas, Ahab, Eli, Demetrius, Jonah, Samson, Balaam, Solomon, Haman, Adam & Eve, Moses, Abraham, Aaron, Isaac, Jonah, many Kings of Israel.  Men of God, or used of God at one time, but when they became lifted up in pride and fell, they bore the judgment of God — unto their end.
