I write this to you with reference to those who would deceive you [seduce and lead you astray].
But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do]. And now, little children, abide (live, remain permanently) in Him, so that when He is made visible, we may have and enjoy perfect confidence (boldness, assurance) and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming. (1John 2:26-28 AMPC)
All Things Continue As They Were
Sister Burgess still cannot join with the others in singing and makes herself a spectacle even while they try to sing before service. Someone, please get the mic off her.
Brother Stair mentions how Brother Doug told him to quit hugging his daughters, and he says that he did… until we saw him doing it. Then he has one of them come up for a hug to justify his getting back to hugging them. This is a significant issue with Brother Stair because it is the one that got the River excommunicated.
Long after Brother Doug left, Brother Stair’s sexual advances on the young sisters at the River (and Rick Bell’s wife Daisy as well) came to a head that caused his “old friend” Brother Chris to have to confront him about it. Brother Stair refused to leave the sisters alone, and in response, he turned the situation around to blaming the River and demanding their public repentance (1John 3:12). There was no way Brother Stair was going to deny himself those sisters that he had invested many years into training up to be his sex slaves.
Pastor Rice continues on his railings of those who don’t join in supporting his regime of wickedness. Perhaps he could ask himself the question; is the reason that they are not fellowshipping with you because you are not walking in the light (1John 1:7)? Or is he like his father Stair and unwilling to admit that his actions in the physical world are evil? Like taking his father’s concubine Rose (Deut 22:30; 2Sam 16:22), who is also his brother’s wife Rose (Mark 6:18), and living in an adulterous forbidden marriage with Rose. Then he wonders why her husband Brother Dennis has an issue with him.
Repenting of that would be a good place to start. But then again, that’s just where James Rice started when he took control of the Overcomer. This was his marriage to garner his ascension to the throne. Oh, the hypocrisy of the Overcomer. Same as it ever was.
A gossip goes around spreading rumors, while a trustworthy man tries to quiet them (Proverbs 11:13 TLB).
The wicked accuse; the godly defend (Pr 12:6 TLB).
Evil is already insidiously at work but its activities are restricted until what I have called the “restraining power” (of God) is removed. When that happens the lawless man will be plainly seen—though the truth of the Lord Jesus spells his doom… The lawless man is produced by the spirit of evil and armed with all the force, wonders and signs that falsehood can devise. To those involved in this dying world he will come with evil’s undiluted power to deceive, for they have refused to love the truth which could have saved them. God sends upon them, therefore, the full force of evil’s delusion, so that they put their faith in an utter fraud and meet the inevitable judgment of all who have refused to believe the truth and who have made evil their play-fellow. (2 Thessalonians 2:7 Philips)
Read Your Bible!
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (Pr 3:6 NIV78/RSV). What does that tell us about Brother Stair and Pastor Rice? Where you have crooked paths you have people who do not acknowledge God in all their ways – no matter how they speak to the contrary. They are liars! God’s word is true. God’s word will reveal to you the way these men walk. Read your Bible and depart from these worthless idols (Jonah 2:8 NIV84). Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace (Pr 3:17). Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not Thy law (Ps 119:134).
A people without understanding will come to ruin
