catch-up time
Friday Sept. 27 – evening Prayer Service has Stair come in after 15 minutes. He spends a lot of time disagreeing with Bro Patterson. Someone who took up Stair’s offer to be picked up at an airport arrived there by bus instead and Stair had a fit because he could have come on the bus by the farm and been dropped off there. Some discussion about the weekend accommodation arrangements, Mark’s marriage is doomed to fail because Stair didn’t arrange it, some visitors have arrived expecting a “feast” not a readying for the last day. … (break)
A demonstration of how you can listen by phone, and the familiar story of the meeting with Audrey about selling the motel followed. Don’t trust his lying daughter who is now in Kentucky. Someone has not yet arrived from Wyoming. Rob arrived.
Saturday: I caught only a moment – he was asking one of the visiting women if she were debt-free.
Oct. 1 Monday: Reminiscence of his divorce settlements and Ronald Coyne, the glass-eye popper. He recently gave Geraldine, his first wife, $3000 to enable her to stay in a good old folks home.
I kept being reminded of Hebrews 13:8 Later: he reports having asked listeners to one of the weekend services to call in, there were five calls, the number of regulars was not disclosed.
Thursday evening : Prayer Service interrupted by Stair announcing he was asked if he wanted to buy a short wave station. He does not seem to know which station it is but the idea excites him. It would give Stuart something to do. He was watching someone get sentenced for a shooting incident, getting TV out of the home does not apply to him. The congo look mystified at the news, he won’t bring the cameras back because they don’t look right.
In one of the sessions last week he remembered having spoken for eleven hours without observing anyone take a bathroom break. That wasn’t repeated this week and the thought may have resulted in there being only five or eight cars in the parking lot, and some bicycles. The first hour of the Sabbath Service alternated between trying to get some usable phone calls and invective against Steve. His outlook on followers leaving him is that it is Prophetic Fulfillment and proof of his calling. His talk about ten or thirty million dollars to buy a short wave station to increase the number of people not listening to him confused me so I signed off.
Evening Prayer 10/06 found him in a talkative mood, mainly about Trump for a while until the usual random ramble set in. The prospect of having his own station seems to have cheered him up. (He can get to his lawyers' offices to sign papers but will have to buy it sight unseen unless things change and there are no pre-empts should the ten million arrive. Maybe Alan Wiener will get involved). God gave him a TV set which is in his bedroom and told him how to use it. Pastor Rice is coming from Henrietta this week with some of the women from there so we will have some new voices on air.
Tuesday 10/08 evening : sounds like a continuation of a Dining Hall session – one of the women from Henryetta seems reluctant to be there. She gets a hug and an assessment of her “little titties”. A bunch of G**damns about something. A scripture reader is so far off-mike as to be inaudible to the radio audience. . Minsk is now in “one of the Ukraines”. Congo looks bored with a recount of going through customs on his trip to Russia. He goes on to 9pm and longer, tabernacle feed gets cut off.
Thurs evening Prayer 10/10: Alan Weiner thought he had the resources to get the shortwave station offered to Stair but today he hasn't. He will need Stair's help (or vice versa). Weiner should sell his Florida home and use the money to buy the station. Rachel won't repent, she was married to Robert (?) had two children, is now married to someone else and will have no more children although that doesn't always work. Stair is oblivious to this with personal details going out on the World-Wide broadcast. (break for me here ). Five minutes later he is yelling at someone to leave Florida and return to work at Maranatha. Mark can take walks around his home.
There have been several references to women from Henryetta who had been problems there, one wanted to go back mid-week.. Could this visit by the OK harem be an advance scouting to see if they could move to Maranatha so the farm could be sold for to fund the station purchase?
Notes from Oct.13 evening prayer.
The “weekend feast” has turned out to be a week-long work party harvesting apples and other produce for the farm. Prayer sessions were more animated than usual as if the congos were trying to one-up each other. He bought seven houses a few years ago for $100,000. There were no children present at Pentecost.
Reminiscence of a 4-year-long trial about a property he was given in the Atlanta area. He installed Brian Bruce and Enoch (who has departed again) to look after it, they sued for ownership. The trial took four years. He finally got it back, sold it and put the money to get the pirate radio ship Fury. It was a wipe-out. The Homestead Act takes away his rights away if he lets the wrong people stay 4 years,
Chris took him to Switzerland to visit religious leaders including a teacup reader. He noticed how much she was making and took up giving readings to black people in Saint George to get through a slow season.
Jackie and his wife have inspired dreams. Court cases from ten and fifteen years ago are coming back to haunt him.
Follow up Oct. 14: he used to take trips to Haiti and Cuba in December to avoid celebrating an American Christmas. (The weather there is much nicer at that time of year too.) He is also against celebrating Mothers' Day.
SABBATH 10/26, repeated 10/27 afternoon: A 66-verse chapter from the Lamentations of Jeremiah (Stair seems to think they were by Solomon) was needed to express Stair’s misery at the visit of a group of Craig Mack fans on Friday, they were more interested in Mack’s experience there (and maybe seeing the gravesite) than hearing Stair. He did not remove his dentures to illustrate teeth being broken by stones, though. A few calls from regulars came in, the contrast between Mack fans coming in and Stair followers leaving was marked, several brothers* called out to return. An aside to the sex life of the Burgess’ led to the possibility of his youthful infidelity seeming to justify Stair’s interest in his daughter.
Multiple repeats of the April excoriation of his daughters and the River People were played overnight, again.
