Why Jim Jones left William Branham

Like Brother Stair and the shysters that ‘schooled’ him, he followed William Branham and his false doctrines, as did Jim Jones who was also a high-ranking leader with Branham. Birds of a feather flock together, and even they have fallouts. Think about that, William Branham was so corrupt in his doctrines that even Jim Jones rejected him and parted ways. Yet Brother Stair continued to proclaim him a man of God and teach his heresies.

Spiritually speaking, William Branham has killed more souls than Jim Jones did physically. Branham didn’t physically isolate them to a single location (like Jim Jones and Brother Stair did) so that he could physically kill them but rather he spread his false teachings worldwide so that he could kill more spiritually by their holding to and continue in his heretical doctrines that damn their souls (James 1:21; Rev 2:20, 14; 2Tim 2:16-18). Likewise, the teachings of Brother Stair with his worldwide outreach spiritually killed more than Jim Jones.

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker [like cancer/spread like gangrene]: of whom is [certain men].
Who concerning the truth have erred

William Marrion Branham (A.K.A. William Marvin Branham, 1907[2]-1965) was a Pentecostal minister from Jeffersonville, Indiana credited by some as initiating the Post WWII Healing Revival. The first of ten children of Charles and Ella Branham, Branham claimed to have been born in Cumberland County, KY and reared in the booming Southern Indiana casino town directly across the river from Louisville, KY. He was also a “doomsday prophet”, predicting several years that he claimed to be the End of Days.

That last line is haunting in light of the chain of events that have transpired with the Overcomer Ministry since the death of Brother Stair and how Pastor James Rice has refocused the Overcomer faithful down a new road. Where will it lead? Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit (Matt 15:14 NiV). But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of Hell (Pr 9:18).
