The Overcomer Ministry is in disarray with Brother Stair’s passing. Let us explain why this is.
While Brother Stair was expecting to die and was talking it up in his final services, his people were not believing it. Why? Because they believe his words more than he does. They know that if he doesn’t live up to his words and fulfill them that he is a false prophet and that means that they have been following a false prophet. They have wasted their lives.
To Brother Stair, this has never been an issue because he could always spin something into something else. His intent has always been to get his words to be instantly obeyed. He didn’t really care that his words were correct but rather that they were submitted to and obeyed. This is not the way his followers looked at it. They hold on to his words, especially the prophetic words – that don’t require their obedience.
So for them, Brother Stair’s death means that he will not fulfill the many things that most of them have been waiting and expecting for him to do. Their hopes are now dashed and they are in confusion. Their only hope now, at the current moment, is that Brother Stair rises from the dead – soon. Otherwise, he is a false prophet and all his words have fallen to the ground (1 Samuel 3:19).
They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness:
all the foundations of the earth are out of course
We looked for peace, but no good came;
and for a time of health, and behold trouble!
We Looked for Peace, but No Good Came
That’s not the worst of it. His being a false prophet pales in importance to his being a heretic. To make some prophetic predictions that don’t come to pass is one thing – which leads to God’s people not fearing you (Deut 18:20-22). Having teachings and doctrines that are heretical will damn your hearers – and they won’t even know it. If they persist in the strong delusion of these false teachings they will end up damned (2Thes 2:10-12).
That’s far beyond what a false prophecy will do – unless that prophecy has also been turned into a doctrine too. And this is what Brother Stair has done with many of his prophecies – he has taught them for doctrine and his followers have formed their beliefs around them (Mark 7:7-9).
Some will hold on for six more months and see if Jesus comes this fall during the Feast of Trumpets. As that is the only thing they are left with that they can hold onto that he said which might still come to pass. When this doesn’t happen they will likely shortly fall away. Whether they remain on the Farm (if it holds together) or find a way to leave and go on with their lives in light of their disillusionment of having followed a false leader, is yet to be seen. Many can’t see it holding together much longer than that. Brother Stair certainly didn’t. He made no provision for his followers and stated that no one is going to take my place when I’m gone.
Fruit of the Root
There is sure to be a power-play between the prophet wannabees. Dennis and Jackie are currently in the running. Perhaps they will settle on making themselves the Two Witnesses and proceed to witness for the departed Prophet Stair. Perhaps one of them will claim Brother Stair’s mantel and take up where Brother Stair left off – thus fulfilling what he now cannot. Making out that he is now the successor – like Bro Stair did with William Branham as the Seventh Angel Messenger.
How that will be received by the others is not going to go over as smoothly as they will hope. But perhaps they will find something that will settle the Farm followers – for a space. After all, isn’t God able to raise up Prophets from these Dry Bones? (Matt 3:9) They will likely say to justify themselves. Or perhaps Pastor Rice will move in and take charge and continue all things as they were as they look for the promise of His coming (2Peter 3:4).
We almost saw this event back in 2017 when Brother Connelly tried to incite a coup and turn the people against Brother Stair because of his sins when he was arrested and in jail. This ended with Connelly leaving but if he would have stayed and fought, or just bowed down to Brother Stair, who knows what we would have today. Surly Connely would be at the reigns today.
Perhaps the New Prophet will bring to us the revelation of the last Three Thunders? And take up the duty of going to the Pope of Rome and dying at his hand? Expect things to get interesting this Fall.
One thing we won’t get is any more interruptions (or inserts as Bro Stair liked to call them) in the broadcast when there was something aired he didn’t like any longer, or when he would have a tantrum over people on the Farm not bowing down to his demands. Thus he would work his spells on them via the Radio Room and send out his sorcery into the ether against them (Acts 8:9).
Although, we wonder how long it’s going to be before we get the Brothers (or Sisters) there on the microphone taking over the preaching. Which could well forgo the previous statement and thus we would be hearing them interrupting at random with their new “words from the Lord”.
What they will find is that they cannot command the people like Brother Stair could. By ‘command’ we mean Brother Stair’s charisma and presence that captured people’s attention. Whatever you may have thought of Brother Stair, you’re got to give him that – he could command a room. Even if he couldn’t get them to respond to him as he wished. The only one close to this now is Pastor Rice from Grace Community.
Brother Stair spoke occasionally on the grievous wolves but cast it aside saying that there would be no grievous wolves after him because Jesus would be coming within six months after his death. Thus Brother Stair made no provision for his flock to be protected or nurtured, or as we now see, even for their direction. The only provision that Bro Stair made was for his flesh (Romans 13:14). We find that Brother Stair was the grievous wolf that was devouring and scattering the flock. He even boasted that he hasn’t spared any (Acts 20:29-30). His name Ralph has been shown to mean Wolf Counsel.
This is more of his fruit manifesting (Matt 7:15-20). This manifestation is growing because while Bro Stair could outshout and spin and re-spin his words, those remaining at the helm cannot. This hedge of deception that Brother Stair’s fruit was hidden behind has been removed (Job 10:10). What we will see now is the crop grown from the seeds he sowed (Galatians 6:7-9).
Every Tree Is Known
Though Brother Stair was the chief wolf, those coming after him will do as he had done. They will likewise manifest the fruit of the wolf – devouring, scattering, and not sparing the flock, and speak perverse things, to draw away disciples after themselves (Acts 20:29-30). The scattering has already begun and will likely end in the total abandonment of the Community and the Farm. But wisdom is justified of all her children (Lk 7:35). This will finally show the final fruit of Brother Stair’s ministry. This abandonment of the Farm was a forgotten and ignored dream/vision that Brother Joe spoke of many years ago from the pulpit.
The tree has fallen to the south (Ecc 11:3). It desired the sides of the North but in the end, it did not attain it, it was cast down to Hell (Isa 14:13-15). All that cometh is vanity (Ecc 11:8). You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men (Matt 5:13 NASB).
Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever (Ezekiel 43:9)
Stay tuned as we will visit these scenarios and more as they arise…
