A few questions for updates on the Maranatha commune, if there is any information:
Is there a General Manager for the farm ? Is Pastor Rice basically a "name" to continue the Church status?
What is the current number of residents (original or from Henryetta)? Has there been a sale of the unused homes (200 suggested at one time, maybe that was the number of hoped-for occupants)?
Has anyone sent a cheque payable to 'Brother Stair' to see how it may be deposited? (Hard to do internationally)

Jan.22 Sabbath Service
Listening to Pastor Rice after the re-play of a Bro. Stair message from 8 years ago, it appears to have been a message about unity. Rice is having problems with members objecting to his setting schedules, someone (Jacky?) is contending that Stair is not dead, he is alive in Christ and Rice should not be trying to take over. There was a call out to a couple of people to call in to let them know they are listening. Much repetition. This starts at about 12:15 pm, sounds like Rice is padding with songs to fill the third hour. Someone finally calls but makes no connection. Argument about Stair being dead or not continues. Goes on past the hour, Brother Dave is given the mike for a closing prayer, that's something new.
A follow-up to the above report. Rice feels designated to be the shepherd of this group of sheep (a notable raise in civility in referring to them). Sheep follow the shepherd and don't argue among themselves or talk back to the shepherd. So there must be more cooperation and less criticism by all members of the congo.
@malahat The one "contending that Stair is not dead" is Dennis Larivee the President of the 'ministry' [by reason of pimping out his wife Rose (the vice-President) to the Prophet].
Dennis is holding to Bro Stair's scripture that goes "Death is separation from God", and Dennis does not want to admit that Bro Stair is separated from God. The fact is that Bro Stair is twice dead (Jude 1:12) and has been separated from God (at least) for decades (Isaiah 59:2).
Dennis insists that Rice use the word "sleep" rather than what scripture says, "dead" (Joshua 1:2). This is also contrary to what Bro Stair said. Bro Stair never used the word sleep when he talked about his own death.
We are witnessing the beginning of the implosion of the 'ministry' of lies (2Cor 6:3). How anyone can hold to Brother Stair's teachings and still hold on to believing in his 'ministry' continuing is lost in a paradox. Brother Stair said that the ministry would not continue without him - and yet they are trying to do just that - against their prophet's own words. Thus we witness the infighting and confusion that has always been in the Overcomer. It's just that now there is no overlord to outshout all others.
So if the Overcomer continues it proves that Brother Stair was wrong and his words were a lie. If the Overcomer falls it proves that Brother Stair was wrong in it preserving a people. Either way, their paradox is going to implode.
