The Owl of The Desert

You would think by now, with the Internet, that people would stop pushing errors that they could so easily get caught in.  You might also think that they would check this information for facts.

The teaching of the Owl of the Desert is a nice hype-generating message once useful to elicit emotion  – but is it true?

If you’re putting yourself out as THE man of truth shouldn’t maintaining and holding truth be important to you?

No owls fly across the Ocean.  No animal is faster than a jet.  The fastest animal is a Falcon – in a dive.

Taking an owl, a bird of prey, and making it “Christlike”???

By now, in the information age – with the Internet- you would think that people would stop pushing errors that one could so easily get caught in.  You might also think that one would check this same Internet for facts on said subject – rather than for porn.  Yet one sticks with re-airing his false teaching of The Owl of the Desert.  It might be a nice hype-sounding message once useful to elicit emotion – but it’s just not true (Pr 12:22).  It won’t take you five years to figure that out either.

The Lie of The Desert

Some will argue that it doesn’t matter but if you or anyone else cannot validate your story, then just because you believe it’s true and you have some inner fuzzy ‘witness’ that it’s true – that doesn’t make it true.  Any Zoologist will tell you this is a fabricated story outside of truth.  Brother Stair says he didn’t make this up (as he has done with most of his stories) rather he has taken it (he used the word stolen once) from someone else who preached this false message.

Brother Stair liked the sensationalism of it so he used it, not caring if it was true or not – and still doesn’t.  Because he still airs it!  [and even after his death his predecessors are airing it]  What a way to show discernment of truth to your audience.  Which might not matter so much if you’re not putting yourself out as THE man of truth for this generation (Acts 8:9-10).

This misleading might have worked fine before the information age when you could sell your audience on any fanciful-sounding story as they had no way of proving or disproving it.  But today we know better.  This is Brother Stair tickling his listeners’ ears (2Tim 4:3-4).

Lying lips are abomination to the Lord
The heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness
(Prov 12:22, 23)

Some Owl Facts

The Great Grey Owl is the largest owl at just 2 feet 2 inches tall – not 4 feet [as per Brother Stair’s tale].  With a wingspan of 5 feet – not 9 feet [as per Brother Stair’s tale].  They live in forests, meadows, or bogs, mostly cold climates – not desserts [as per Brother Stair’s tale].  This largest of owls is grey, with no gold feathers on its head – not white (perhaps Brother Stair is thinking of a Barn Owl – or the Tootsie Pop owl).

No owls fly across the Ocean [as per Brother Stair’s tale].  No animal is faster than a 747 @ 535 mph  [as per Brother Stair’s tale].  Not hardly!  The fastest animal is the Peregrine Falcon at 242 mph – and only in a dive.

There is a desert owl – the Pharaoh Eagle-Owl.  It’s not white, it’s not big, it’s not anything related to what Brother Stair’s story suggests – aside from living in the desert.

So Many LiesTootsie Pop Owl

How many lies does it take to make something a lie?  Reminds me of the old Tootsie Pop ad asking an owl, “How many licks does it take …”.  No doubt Brother Stair’s Owl of the Desert has the answer to this one too.  How many lies does it take to get to the deception of God’s people? – he’s used far more than three“Perhaps the world may never know” how many lies are told in just this one tale by Brother Stair.  Yet it is lies (or stories) like these that are used to deceive and mislead God’s people into following something or someone that they would not otherwise (Pr 12:17, 26).  Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil (Pr 12:20).

Brother Stair talks about an owl, a bird of prey (like himself), and makes it “Christlike”Christ is not a bird of prey, you’re thinking of Satan Brother Stair.  It reminds me of a wolf telling the sheep that he’s “their leader” so that you are to “Obey me in everything”, and “Let me devour you” (Prov 12:5).

It’s interesting how Brother Stair has an audience that is in as much folly as he is on this one.  He enjoys making them laugh.  This is so much like Brother Stair’s standard way of taking some story and hammering it into some spiritual meaning to justify it – even when it’s based on a lie.  Kinna like what he says about the Devil stole everything when referring to his loss from all those who left him.  Forgetting that his everything came from what they brought, and they left with less than they came with.  Me thinks some other devil stole more than just their stuff, he raped them spiritually and cast them aside.

This storytelling is the type of shystering that he was schooled in and he would make it his trademark with his many taped messages on various topics to stir people up (2Tim 4:3-4) that he could play over and over (Ps 74:23).  He would later advance his gameplay to playing with words – making up his own meanings for words, like “Israel = He is real”.  This would climax in perversions of totally changing the true meaning of words like defining Impenitent as “a heart that repents”.

I guess that definition would finally make Brother Stair qualify as repenting then wouldn’t it?  Because he is defiantly impenitent [not sorry or ashamed about something bad you have done] (Pr 12:13, 15).  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;  Who will render to every man according to his deeds (Rom 2:5-6).
