God’s Help for Preachers
As Brother Stair says many times, the Church has it backwards.
Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them.
Ruling by example in godly leadership. Anything else is learned from the heathen.

“God help the preacher who browbeats the people!” – Leonard Ravenhill
The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up [that which was] broken, neither have ye brought again that which was DRIVEN AWAY, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with FORCE and with CRUELTY have ye ruled them. [Eze 34:4]
Neither as being lords over [God’s] heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. [1Pt 5:3]
Ruling by example is true, godly leadership. Anything else is learned from the heathen.
But Jesus called them [unto Him], and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: [Mt 20:25-27]
Exercise authority? Isn’t authority God-given?
Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand. [2Cor 1:24]
…let him be your minister… let him be your servant… helpers of your joy… Hmm… seems the church from “the top” down has this backwards.
