No Repentance
When Brother Stair came out of jail (on bond) in Jan 2018, he told his people, and reiterated it to his internet stream and radio audience, that his sin was his pride in going on TV (which he now equals YouTube to TV – something he railed on us for saying a year ago – now declaring that what we said was true). Saying it was his pride in wanting to be seen which is what got him caught by his enemies seeing what he was doing to the sisters. Brother Stair did not say that what he did to the sisters was wrong, on the contrary, he blasted his victims and everyone’s eyes for telling lies on him that got him in trouble – it’s not what he did but what they did that landed him in jail.
This is what the Bible calls worldly repentance vs. godly repentance. Godly repentance is sorrow for your sins. Worldly repentance is sorrow for getting caught. Brother Stair is strictly sorrowful that he got caught. He was very clear on that in his confession that he is airing on repeat. Worldly repentance is no repentance at all – it’s shifted blame – and it works death, as we are seeing. Rather than the salvation and carefulness that comes from godly repentance. Brother Stair has never had godly repentance (at least not in the last 20 years) and that is why he is waxing worse and worse.
No surprise then that even his own Community saw no repentance in him this time and several have left. This is the same as it was in 2002 when 50% left him saying he showed no repentance.
Are We Misinterpreting or Misrepresenting?
Don’t ask us. Look at those who left him right after Brother Stair came out of jail in January and told this “repentance” to. Even the man in charge of the Community, while he was in jail, left him. There was no true repentance witnessed in Brother Stair. The king has lost his subjects and is in ruin (Pr 14:28). They are his witnesses, his fruit, and his testimony.
Back To The Old Push
When the focus in on you, turn it onto something else, a Feast Day or Gathering usually works. Brother Stair is now pushing the urgency of the hour again. Already setting up Passover week in March/April in hopes to put fear in those still hanging on to keep them in terror of missing God. Meanwhile, the prophet is also hoping to not be back in jail during Passover. Brother Stair is also saying that “Many are saying that Jesus is coming this Passover“. Does the Prophet not know [if Jesus is coming, or if he’s going to jail]? Is he now taking the word of others on this? Or is he just playing us and using these words to elicit an urgency… again? Remember also the scarcity that only 50% of you will be here next time.
Salesman of The Century
What salesmen don’t want you to know is that the two most successful cognitive biases in sales are urgency and scarcity. These two biases Brother Stair makes maximum use of in selling his wares to the unaware. He’s been very successful at merchandising the people of God with his message of urgency – Jesus is coming in your lifetime, the end is near, this is the last time, … Salted with scarcity – few there be, the “many” are wrong, you better hope I let you come to the service/gathering, 50% of you will leave me, … Masterfully, Brother Stair learned these techniques from the shysters that he was schooled under in the Revival era and has put them to judicious use (Pr 4:14; Pr 1:15; Ps 5:4-6; Ps 1:1). His 1998 Gathering of close to 1000 people and his all-time max of over 200 people living in his Community in 2001 proved what the urgency of Y2K can do for your ministry? After all, He did say Jesus is coming before the year 2000.
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of:
but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort,
what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves,
yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire,
yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge [on your sin]! (2Corinthians 7:10-11)
