Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ …
(2 Thessalonians 2:1)
The topic of The Manifestation of the Man of Sin is being heralded again on the Overcomer Broadcast. Brother Stair says that we are quickly coming to that hour of his manifestation. But this broadcast which is currently being aired is from 2002 where he’s talking about the manifestation of the Man of Sin. This should not throw us off as to the manifestation of the Man of Sin who was identified by the Prophet a short time later.
The Great Falling Away
Why Brother Stair airs this old broadcast after he has identified that this manifestation has taken place is likely to put listeners in urgency to come to the Passover 2020 Gathering event at the Walterboro Tabernacle in April. We hope Brother Stair hasn’t forgotten that he already declared that the Man of Sin was revealed in 2001 through the Great Falling Away which took place (he says) when over 50% of his followers left him because of the manifestation of his sexual sins came to light. This leaving of his followers was proclaimed as the Great Falling Away by Brother Stair sometime in about 2002.
What this Great Falling Away shows us is not the error of those that fell away but it reveals the Man of Sin from which they fell away from. But according to Brother Stair, this Great Falling Away, that he identified and proclaimed, revealed that the followers that left him were men of sin. It seems that Brother Stair wanted to pick and choose what he wanted out of 2 Thessalonians 2 to discredit his leavers. But he disregarded one thing scripture tells us that this Falling Away reveals – who the Man of Sin IS.
For that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first,
and that man of sin be revealed
(2 Thessalonians 2:3)
Falling Away Today
Scripture makes it clear what the Great Falling Away reveals. Brother Stair made it clear what and when the Great Falling Away was – the mass exodus in 2001 from his sexual wickedness and lying about it all those previous years. Therefore according to scripture and Brother Stair, this Great Falling Away indicated Brother Stair as the Man of Sin. This was the man in sin that they fell away from. They fled from Sodom.
There should be no doubt or question to the followers of Brother Stair that the Man of Sin was manifested in Brother Stair in 2001. To question that is to change what the Prophet hath already spoken. The Prophet has admonished us to Remember! We should remember that he has already proclaimed this.
To the rest of us who don’t follow Brother Stair, this manifestation no doubt revealed to all the world that Brother Stair is certainly a man of sin. This man of lawlessness, a man that has no regard for God’s laws or commands but makes his own (Matt 15:9). Nor does he have regard for the laws of man.
“Don’t overlook the obvious.” (Brother Stair)
The Revelation of 2 Thes 2:1-12
(AMPC, NASB)
1 But relative to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and our gathering together to [meet] Him, we beg you, brethren,
2 not to allow your minds to be quickly unsettled or disturbed or kept excited or alarmed, whether it be by some [pretended] revelation of [the] Spirit or by word or by letter [alleged to be] from us,
3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, (Jn 10:10)
4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god [Or everyone who is called God] or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
6 And you know (1Jn 2:27) what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness (that hidden principle of rebellion against constituted authority) is already at work in the world, [but it is] restrained only until he who restrains is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one (the antichrist) will be revealed
9 The coming [of the lawless one, the antichrist] is through the activity and working of Satan and will be attended by great power (Acts 8:9-11) and with all sorts of [pretended] miracles and signs and delusive marvels—[all of them] lying wonders—
10 And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing (going to perdition) because they did not welcome the Truth but refused to love it that they might be saved.
11 Therefore God sends upon them a misleading influence, a working of error and a strong delusion to make them believe what is false,
12 In order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe in [who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely on] the Truth, but [instead] took pleasure in unrighteousness.
Perhaps Not
We are not saying here that we believe that Brother Stair is THE Man of Sin of 2 Thessalonians 2, or that Brother Stair’s revelation of the Great Falling Away was those who left him. But the similarities here and what defines the Man of Sin is clearly seen in Brother Stair. Don’t forget that Brother Stair himself labeled The Great Falling Away as the event at the Overcomer in 2001. So there’s that.
This is about what Brother Stair teaches – and then unteaches; to show us how his teachings are contrary not only to Scripture but even to his own teachings, and to his own hurt. Brother R.G. Stair says prophecy has many fulfillments – he is one such fulfillment of 2 Thessalonians 2.
Perhaps
In fact, 2nd Thessalonians 2 indicates that those who Fell Away were those who apostatized from the Faith and from God. This is not what happened at the Overcomer in 2001 when over 50% left Brother Stair – just the opposite – it was Brother Stair (the man of sin) that apostatized. Those who left were not falling away from God or the Faith – but rather, they were retaining their faith and obeying God in fleeing from the wicked one. Those who left Brother Stair did so because his apostasy was revealed to them – that Brother Stair had fallen from the Faith and was lying to us about his walking in holiness and without sin – when in fact he was living in licentious fornication, all throughout his ministry years.
He would further lie to those of us who remained about his repentance. Repentance that never manifested or bore fruit. Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance (Matthew 3:8). A verse he loved to assail us with but one he never measured up to. All the while he would slander and condemn anyone who he thought didn’t believe his repentance. The truth finally showed in the end with his gross sexual conduct on video in the Tabernacle and in his unlawful living with Rose, his brother’s wife (Mark 6:18; Pr 5:20). He sadly died in his sins never repenting or changing his ways. Still angry at the River for their refusal to allow him to grope the sisters there.
All those who have ever left the Overcomer Ministry were in large leaving for this reason – Brother Stair’s sins and his refusal to repent of them. They did not leave because they were forsaking the faith but because they must flee to continue in the Faith (Col 1:23). We cannot walk with wickedness and follow the Lord in righteousness (Amos 3:3). If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked (Pr 29:12).
How can two walk together unless they be agreed?
(Amos 3:3)
I’ve learn several excellent stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting.
I wonder how much attempt you place to create this
