After opening with Brother Stair taking offense at them taking offense… The heresy begins right out of the gate.
“Today I Am the Word of God made flesh, and I dwell among you.”
The exaltation of entitlements just continues to enlarge. Just when you might think that Brother Stair would be humbling himself down at least due to his age and his health issues, we find him going farther than ever in his self-exaltation and the grandiose deification of himself to the point of being God himself.
Now, this is quite a statement in itself, let alone from someone who exercises the spirit of antichrist in denying Christ in the flesh of his congregation. Something we’ve been talking about for some time and even Brother Jonathan brought out in a recent message.
What we have here is a man clearly making himself Christ in the flesh. This goes along with Brother Stair’s being the similitude of Christ in your midst, and the prototype of Christ. This is the very definition of antichrist that John spoke of in 1John 2:18 – “one who comes “instead of Christ” [in Christ’s stead] (Rienecker & Rogers, Linguistic Key to the Greek New Testament, 1980, p. 788).
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life – and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us – what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. (1John 1:1-3 NASB)
If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; If we say that we have not sinned [that was we do is not sin (see about lust below)], we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. (1John 1:6, 10 NASB)
“No remorse. No repentance.”
Brother Stair cannot see this in himself, only in others. This is the classic trait of narcissism and what Jesus constantly dealt with in the Pharisees and Sadducees – the leaders that lorded it over God’s people (1Pt 5:3).
To sum up Brother Stair’s failure to understand himself and communicate the word of God into his own life, we give you one of his own favorite movie quotes. “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate. Some men, you just can’t reach. So you get what we had here last week — which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. And I don’t like it any more than you men.” (The Captain, Cool Hand Luke, 1967).
The line “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.” is often quoted by Brother Stair to put down his hearers that they fail to understand and respond as he wishes. This is a misunderstanding of Bro Stairs’ as to what communication is. A failure to communicate is always the failure of the communicator, not the hearer. Just like the Captin, Brother Stair fails to admit his own errors. Most likely the reason this is one of Brother Stair’s remembered movies is because of the car wash scene with Joy Harmon where she practically has sex with the car. And the men watching her sound like Bro Stair in his private perverted conversations with brothers and his Dining Hall talk.
This also reminds us of the Captain’s line just before this while he’s chaining and beating his prisoner (think Overcomers).
Captain: You gonna get used to wearin’ them chains after a while, Luke. Don’t you never stop listenin’ to them clinking, ’cause they gonna remind you of what I’ve been saying — for your own good.
Luke: I wish you’d stop being so good to me, Cap’m.
Captain: Don’t you ever talk that way to me. Never! Never!
Notice how the Captain, just like Brother Stair does, reminds Luke that what he’s doing is for his own good. And how the Captain responds, just like Brother Stair does, with rage against the lack of total submission to his tyranny.
Eve was Naked
This excites Brother Stair as he then defines lust and that he doesn’t have lust. Begs the question; who is this god that is bringing all these sexual thoughts and visions into Brother Stair’s head? (1Jn 1:5-7) It’s not that it’s too high for us Brother Stair – it’s in the ditch perverse and not of God (Pr 23:27; Pr 22:14; Pr 4:24; Pr 8:13).
So he perverts love into his justification for lust – that he says isn’t lust. You can call lust (and worse perversions) whatever you like Brother Stair but that doesn’t change what they are, or what God calls them. Rebranding lust into love does not make it God’s love.
Truth is not established by your mouth – no matter how much you claim that “The Word of God is in my mouth”. These revelations of Brother Stair or Satan’s so-called deep secrets as Jesus called them (Rev 2:24 NIV) are not from the God of the Word.
“Oh, foolish Overcomers.”
In bringing the book of Galatians to reality [by inserting Overcomers in it] Brother Stair stops short of the reason that Paul is calling them foolish and what the Truth is that Paul is warning them against. This truth is from chapter 1 in that they have departed from the truth and turned unto another (Brother Stair) who has another Gospel (Gal 1:6-9 NIV/KJV).
This other gospel Brother Stair proudly states that he preaches – is not the gospel that Paul preached and is what Paul is here calling them foolish for departing from. Thus Brother Stair is identifying himself as the other that the Overcomers have departed from Christ unto and that they have in so doing left the truth behind. This truth of the true (and only) gospel that Brother Stair states he does not preach (Gal 1:8).
Thus, the Overcomers are truly framed in Galatians 1:6-9. Paul is even giving warning here about turning from Christ – something which we just witnessed Brother Stair opening with – turning them to himself as the Christ. [See his opening statement]
Brother Stair is also in error in that Galatians starts with “O foolish Galatians“. It does not. That is chapter 3. Which is the climax of the reasoning of the first two chapters and the reason for Paul calling them foolish – as stated above.
“Wilful transgression”
This is the definition of Brother Stair and his ministry. A life of willful transgression justified by the same word of God that he condemns and damns others with.
The month began with hugs and the month ends with hugs. This time justifying those under 16 years of age. Even though Brother Stair can’t touch them – he makes sure you know that those under 16 can touch Brother Stair. Is there any doubt that he’s not waxing worse and worse?
Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable)

12+ minutes of the Sister Burgess Show were removed. This is the same Sister Burgess who you hear never joining in the singing or the quoting but instead claps and shouts – yet Brother Stair gets on everyone else about doing that but her. This is the pattern we always see in his ulterior motive.

The 13 second clip of Stair saying if he died an ordinary death like other men then he was not sent from God and his whole ministry was in vain was an excellent find! He admitted to taking the name of the Lord in vain. Rice should play this on a continual loop on the 24/7 loudspeakers and again in Sabbath service just prior to standing up to preach. Actually, this clip, and the clip where “Stair says he was called to preach another Gospel- right after he literally quotes the Scripture where Paul says if someone comes and preaches another Gospel let him be accursed” are both golden!
