My People Do Not Consider

E-mail Print PDF

Isaiah 1
3  My people doth not consider4  sinful, laden with iniquity, evildoers, corrupters: forsaken the Lord, provoked the Holy One of Israel, they are gone away backward10 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense (prayer) is an abomination unto Me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hateth: they are a trouble unto Me; I am weary to bear them.  And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;  23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: loveth gifts, after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

What we see in Isaiah 1 is that God is upset with the religious appearance of people calling themselves by His name, while they continue in their sins and iniquity.  They are following leaders that have turned them from the Lord, but not in appearance, in “going away backward”, in keeping their face towards God but backing away from him getting farther and farther away from the Lord.  Thinking that in having them keep Feast Days that this will make it okay with God.

This is spoken against a people, or church, that is doing the following:

  • Allowing sin in the camp
  • Leaders that walk in sin
  • Leaders are rebellious of Gods holy ways
  • Leaders that steal from God & His people
  • Leaders that love reward, honor, and praise
  • Keep Sabbath days, Feast Days, and Prayer times
  • Believe they are “looking to Jesus”

God offers them a space of repentance, and proclaims a sure judgment upon those who continue in their evil ways.
Where we find leaders that use Isaiah 1 to preach against their flock, we find the leader of Isaiah 1.  Using Sabbath days, Feast Days, and Prayer times to hide that they are walking away backwards from God.

1Pt 5:3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
Do you find your leader keeping to this, or doing the opposite of what is commanded?

These corrupt leaders preach that the Laodicean Church Age is interpreted as the laity rule over the leadership.  Where do we see that today?  We see the opposite.  These false leaders are teaching you this interpretation so that they can rule over you.  They want your submission to them.  Search the Internet and you will find that today's popular opinion is the interpretation that denounces the laity for ruling over the leadership.  The same leaders would also use 1 Corinthians 12:28 to put into place a numbered hierarchy, (a pyramid as Wm Branham taught), of leadership that is above the laity.  Another misinterpretation of scripture for their own selfish ends.  Ephesians 4:11 will clarify this without the numbered order.  This is not talking about a hierarchy but a timeline.

They have it close but they have it backwards and that changes it completely.

Laodicea means that the rule is OVER the laity, not that the laity are ruling - they rule over the laity.  These leaders today have turned the 'ruling over' around to make the laity submit to them, which is exactly what Revelation 3 says they do - rule over the laity.  This is further defined as the very thing that God hates - His people being ruled over.  That is what Jesus came to put an end to - leaders ruling over His heritage ["Neither as being lords over God's heritage" 1Pt 5:3].
This is also the Doctrine of the Nicolaitans - that thing which God hates!

Consider who God is speaking to here...

By their fruits ye shall know them.
