It seems the Lord’s hands were open wide to the former members who received almost double for their troubles [Isa 61:7]
Religion News Blog reports on 2007 court verdict.
Press & Standard ran this article in 2007 [Walterboro, SC]
This jury decision was later overturned by the State Supreme Court on the grounds of Brother Stair running a church. His false 501c3 got him out of it.
For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
(Isaiah 61:7-8)
The judge at the state level, although conceding the final decision to Stair, stated Stair’s conduct was reprehensible in this matter. It was a cunning way to defraud brothers and sisters using the Bible in 1 hand to convince sincere Christians they should give all to him in order to say they’re not holding anything back from God like Annanias and Sapphira did. In the other hand using the law to keep all money, land etc. to himself. That wasn’t the concept of all things in common. He was the fox in the chicken coop. That wasn’t even enough. His lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and pride of life were insatiable. He coveted all a man had and when the financial aspect was deleted he coveted his wife or daughters to commit adultery with. He separated teen sons and daughters from under their parental God given authority making decisions only a parent has a right to do regarding living arrangements, evictions, marriages, etc. He listened in on phone calls without consent. All letters were brought to his radio room/office to be viewed before they could be permitted to go to the addressed party. He walked into trailers without knocking or receiving permission to enter a dwelling. He wrung out every bit of dignity in targeting his selected prey before all assembled in the body of Christ who were openly taught to despise and have contempt regarding a weaker member to be considered of no worth or value before casting them out, oftentimes with the consent and agreement of elders and pastors. God sees and He knows. He will bring justice and vindicate the afflicted, oppressed, wounded, grieved, persecuted, reviled, violated little ones and we will see it with our own eyes. We are not forgotten. We are not forsaken. We will wait on Him with patient continuance of well doing because He cannot lie and He made a promise to be faithful and we believe.
