Pentecost or Prophet
Pentecost is the celebration of the Holy Spirit coming upon believers and thus fulfilling the Old Testament prophecies and fulfilling and revoking the need for prophets and priests. Much like Joshua said, to put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side [Jos 24:14] for us today to serve anyone in Christ’s place is to have another god before Him. We are now the kings (prophets) and priests [Acts 2:17; Ex 19:6; Isa 61:6; Rev 1:6, 5:10; 1Pt 2:5; Rom 15:16].
The Gospel of the Kingdom declares that, “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son“ [Heb 1:1-2 NIV]. As foretold many times, like Jeremiah said, THEN shall ye call upon Me, and ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you [Jer 29:12]. So any covering other than that of Christ is antichrist and is a veil between us and God – the which is taken away in Christ but remains under Moses (or those who serve prophets like unto) [2Cor 3:13-16]. This veil is taken away when we turn to Christ [2Cor 3:14, 16], it can also be said that this veil is returned when we turn from Christ to another, “even unto this day” [2Cor 3:15 ]. The word veil also means covering, thus false leaders will often use the word covering to justify veiling you from God and making you come to them to know Gods will or word. These teachers (as that is what they do) have put themselves in the place of Jesus and as the anointed of God and that you are to hear from God through them 1. They are the End Time Sign.
Thus the question should be asked, why would a ministry that focuses upon a need for a Prophet to lead Gods people have anything to do with Pentecost? The answer is found in the way said ministry uses said celebration [Isa 1:14; Amos 5:21-23].
Gathering in the Wilderness
In the ministry of the Overcomer we find that Feast Days are used as Gatherings to bring more radio listeners into the Wilderness where the true body is with the anointed messenger. This is contrary to the Gospel of the Kingdom which makes all believers filled with Gods spirit and we have no need that any prophet or priest instruct us [1 John 2:27]. Unless we are not abiding in Christ, or that we are being instructed that we are not in Christ – which would be an antichrist teaching.
Such a mediator would be antichrist to a born again believer as they would be taking the place of Christ (in His stead) and blocking your way to Christ – with Whom we now have access to through His sacrifice [Eph 2:18; Heb 10:19-20]. This is the Catholic priesthood error. This doing away with the personal access we now have to God that Christ made by His sacrifice does away with the sacrifice of Christ and is why it is therefore antichrist [1Jn 2:22].
In Johns identifying the Antichrists that shall arise in the Last Days. This Antichrist of 1John 2:18,22 has long been taken to be one who opposes Christ but it also means “one who comes ‘instead of Christ'” 2, or in Christ’s stead.
Coming or Past
While Brother Stair has had to back-track and inform his listeners that he was giving the wrong date for Pentecost – only two months off.
Not bad for the man we all look for to tell us the times – or is it? Either way, being off on all times is business as usual.
Also worth noting if you haven’t heard it said. Brother Stair says that he is in the place of Christ, that he is standing in Christ’s stead.
… Or Pass
Perhaps the reason the Overcomer Ministry is still looking and longing for God to pour out His spirit upon them is that they are walking in idolatry and have another god before the LORD? Does this looking and longing also declare that they do not have Gods spirit? Could it be the reason they look for another is that they are walking in rebellion to Gods words and ways? [Isa 1:14; Amos 5:21-23] And why does the Prophet not know the time of their visitation? The Prophet, for decades now, has been announcing every year to be the year for this outpouring of the Holy Ghost – yet they have still not received. Is he wrong about this being the End Time? Since, if it is the Last Times should not this Overcomer Ministry, above all, have been poured upon? [Acts 2:17; Joel 2:28] Or is he just wrong about … ? Because if said Prophet is right about everything and in everything he says – then Gods word is wrong.
If we are to look at that Malachi message from which said Ministry takes its purpose from, along with this same outpouring, what do we find? The curse that hangs over the Overcomer [Mal 2:2], that dung has been spread upon their faces [charges, arrests] [Mal 2:3], many have stumbled because someone departed from Gods way and brought in corruption [Mal 2:8]. They have become contemptible and base before all people – not because you are to be the most hated but because ye have not kept My ways [Mal 2:9]. Contrast this with Malachi 3:12 where he says of those who follow Gods ways and are blessed of God, all nations shall call you blessed [Mal 3:12]. This is an ongoing sin, again and again [Mal 2:13], and the tears and weeping, and crying out at Prayer Time is not going to fix it [Mal 2:13].
This is not the “peanut brains” that God is talking about through Malachi. God addresses His charges to the priests, the masters, and scholars [Mal 2:1, 7, 12] the leaders and ruler over the people – not the people. Sin comes from the top down. The one God holds responsible is the one in leadership. Fix the top and the rest will flow down – the head is sick [Isa 1:5]. Such sickness that they call the proud and arrogant blessed and they that work wickedness are set up (as men of God), they that test God are delivered and escape by grace [Mal 3:15; Rom 6:1].
Do the Overcomers realize that looking for God to pour out His spirit upon them would mean an immediate uselessness of the Prophet in their midst. Perhaps now we can see why the reality of Pentecost is overshadowed by Brother Stair and why they never quite get the outpouring that he psychs them up for. This would thwart his purpose in receiving the Prophet [Jn 12:32] rather than receiving the Holy Ghost [Jn 20:22].
“Tarry Ye Until”
We’ve all heard this much-quoted phrase from Brother Stair – as if it were scripture – it is not. Luke 24:49 says, And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. As you can see, the place we are commanded to tarry until is in the city. You know, that city that Brother Stair said God commanded you to get out of.
Since the Overcomers are awaiting this enduing they don’t have it, thus they should have obeyed God and stayed in the city… until.
And once they were endued with power from on high at Pentecost they went out into all the world spreading the gospel, not hiding away in the wilderness protecting themselves from the coming destruction in fear. That wilderness gathering would be a “this is that” representing the Overcomer and the End Times Sign.
Witch Spirit
So, will you be receiving the Holy Spirit or another spirit this Pentecost? [2Cor 11:4] Time to choose!
choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served (prophets & priests),
or the gods …, in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
~Joshua 24:15
But the anointing which ye have received of him
abideth in you,
and ye need not that any man teach you:
but as
the same anointing
teacheth you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie,
and even as it hath taught you,
ye shall abide in Him.
~1John 2:27
and discern between the righteous and the wicked,
between him that serveth God
and him that serveth Him not.
~Malachi 3:18
- For many will come in (on the strength of) My name [appropriating the name which belongs to Me], saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah) [Ed: Gods anointed], and they will lead many astray. ~Mt 24:5 AMPC
