Ezekiel 37:1-14
The Valley of Dry Bones
The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath [wind or spirit] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
11 Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. 14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’” (NIV)
Here in Ezekiel 37 we see a different story than the one told by the current [cue the thunder] Voice of God, the Last Day Prophet of God, the Ezekiel of today [blow the trumpets] – Brother RG Stair.
The Prophets Duty
The story Brother Stair likes to make this out to be is one that casts shade on the Body of Christ, God’s people, for being dry. That Brother Stair’s house (congregation) is dry and dead. Because they are not bringing themselves to life or that they’re not hearing the words of the prophet (ie: Brother Stair).
Brother Stair never looks at this as the duty of the prophet to speak words of life that bring the bones to life and give them breath. No, if they remain dry it’s not because he hasn’t spoken life it’s because they didn’t receive it, or didn’t listen, or, or, or… Always the fault of the bones.
That’s not the way it reads. If the bones don’t come to life it’s not the bones fault, after all, they’re dead, they have no say in this – it’s all on the prophet. If the prophet is not speaking what God said – it’s not going to work. If the bones do not respond – it’s the prophet’s fault. There’s something wrong with the prophet or with what he spoke. Perhaps he’s not really a prophet? Perhaps he’s not speaking God’s word? There’s something wrong with the prophet or with what he spoke. That’s all there is to it.
Speak the Word Only
If you’re an Ezekiel then his works will follow. If you’ve got a congregation of dry bones, then you’re not Ezekiel and you’re not speaking God’s word over them. It’s just that simple.
Brother Stair likes to justify himself in speaking verse 4 over his people, hear the word of the Lord! But Brother RG Stair fails to speak the words of the Lord, as indicated by the dry bones remaining dry bones (as per his own diagnoses). For if Brother Stair spoke God’s words then the dry bones would respond, and no longer be dry bones. Their lack of response is not because they don’t hear the word of the Lord but because there is no word of the Lord spoken. The dry bones are still waiting.
You can witness this every week in the Overcomer Sabbath Services where (not when) you hear Brother Stair berate his own congregation for not responding to him in the way that pleases him. [Bro Stair can’t seem to put God in it that God is telling him (through His people) that God is not pleased with Brother Stair] Bro Stair can’t even finish a sentence or a thought and he expects them to know where his confused mind is going mid-sentence and that they should respond before he delivers the punch-line. [Which comes off like a thornbush in a drunkard’s hand (Pr 26:9)] To this RG Stair rails on them for their lack of being with him in the spirit and that they are dry bones.
Well, if Brother Stair would believe his own diagnoses here he should realize that the dry bones are waiting for a word from the Lord, and it is not being given. Thus Bro Stair should realize that he is not speaking God’s word over them. But he never sees this – defining himself as a blind prophet (Isa 56:10-11; Mt 15:14), unable to profit those he leads (Jer 7:8; 1Sam 12:21).
Try Prophecy
Perhaps verse 4 is why Brother Stair has tried his hand at a few prophecies, Prophesy to these bones. 1987, 2001, 2007. Even though he says he’s never prophesied anything, then out of the other side of his mouth he says that everything he’s prophesied has come to pass. He also says that he’s never said anything Thus Saith the Lord, trying to get out of his failed prophecies. So which is it, Brother Stair? (1Cor 14:33)
Now with the Coronavirus COVID-19 happenings, Brother RG Stair has reached back and pulled out his 1987 Prophecy using it to say that he’s said something that has come (or coming) to pass. What he fails (like his prophecies) to tell us is that his timeframe on all those prophecy’s has long passed – they failed!
Then You Will Know
Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord. (Eze 37:14)
It is when the bones are no longer dry, when they have life, that we know that the prophet has spoken words from the Lord. This is the fruit (Mt 7:20) on how we know the prophet is from God. Time to discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not (Mal 3:18).
Failure To Communicate?
Is the communication the failure here or is it the communicator? Brother Stair loves to quote from the movie Cool Hand Luke and berate his people for their communication failure. What the simple-minded man doesn’t realize is that his own statement is condemning himself (as it often is). Only a narcissist would have taken the same incorrect perverted meaning from that statement in the movie as did the narcissist that gave it in the movie took it to imply. Oh, the statement was true but the failure was in the understanding of whose fault the failure lay upon – just as is Brother Stair’s failure here.
What we have here is a failure to communicate. (Matthew 12:35)
When there’s a failure to communicate something it’s because the one delivering the message is not doing it right. The communicator is not understanding or not trying to understand his audience. He wants his audience to understand without his effort to understand them and how they receive the message or why they don’t. A narcissist certainly does not care about his hearers he just wants everyone to swallow up what he says and respond the way he thinks they should. Without any regard as to their understanding of what he said or not. Contrary to Solomon’s warning in Proverbs 14:15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. But it is this simple-minded fool that Brother Stair wants his listeners to be – don’t think, just believe every word. For that, you will suffer the consequences (Pr 22:3; 27:12).
Brother Stair will actually use this very scripture to tell his followers that they need to just believe and receive everything he says. Proverbs 14:15 says, The simple believeth every word but it doesn’t stop there. Nor is what Bro Stair interprets as what simple means. Simple in scripture means simple-minded, a fool. Which is actually what Brother Stair treats his followers as, and really wants them to be, but he suffers from his fools not foolishly submitting to him. He certainly doesn’t want them to be prudent and look well to their goings as the rest of the verse says (Pr 14:15). That would cause them to be what he calls leavers.
What We Have Here
The failure to communicate is not the listeners’ problem. It’s a failure on the part of the communicator to read his audience. Yet Brother Stair climes that one thing he is – is a face reader. It would seem this is not true at all as Bro Stair is incapable of comprehending that his hearers do not comprehend what he’s talking about in his confusion. Brother Stair’s face reading would seem to be the kind that is occult; like a palm-reader would use. This is likely why he can’t read God’s people. It would also explain why he toured the world seeking out guru’s, palm readers, mediums, and spiritists – to find out if they saw any calling on him. I didn’t know men of God did such things? Perhaps what we have here is more than a communication failure. This is evidence of a calling failure (2Cor 11:14-15; Mt 7:20; Gal 5:19-21; 2Tim 3:1-5; Titus 1:16; Gal 5:9; Pr 29:12; 2Tim 3:13-17; 1Cor 12:13).
God’s Work or Man’s
Here in Ezekiel, it is God that does the work from the prophet speaking His word. There can only be two parties at fault for the dry bones remaining dry. God or the prophet. The bones have no say in this.
Blaming God is not beyond Brother Stair, in fact, he often uses God as his scapegoat. Brother Stair’s Doctrine of the Witness uses this as his out. It says that you are to get a witness from God on Brother Stair that tells you that Brother Stair is God’s man and that is supposed to settle it once and for all. Then no matter what Brother Stair does, no matter how wicked you think it is, that it’s alright with God because He’s already signed off on Brother Stair. To then go against this witness from God is to go against God. So the matter of Brother Stair walking in wickedness then is between you and God since God is the one that told you that He is God’s man. Thus Brother Stair gets of scott-free as you have to deny God’s witness.
The No Blame Game
So what we end up with here is a man claiming to be God’s prophet that is blaming God’s people for not doing something that is the prophet’s to do. Don’t blame me Brother Stair will say to them. It’s not on me. Yet the word of God just showed us that it is on Brother Stair.
Bro Stair is not speaking God’s word, or he’s not God’s prophet, or what? It’s God that is dropping the ball here? It’s not the Dry Bones fault. They cannot be held responsible in this one. God’s word is clear in this matter. So, are you blaming God or Brother Stair? There’s your choice. We see Brother Stair’s choice – he’s taken the low road and tries to blame the dry bones. Which means that he is really blaming God.
The story of Ezekiel’s dry bones is often used to preach down to God’s people by men who have set themselves over God’s people and use the Old Testament to keep them repressed with the Law. This is the Doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which God hates (Rev 2:6). Paul said that EVEN TODAY when the Old Testament is read there is a veil over the hearers (2Cor 3:14-16). So if you want to keep people in darkness you use the Old Testament. If you want to control people, you use the Law (Rom 8:3-4). Grace and truth will not bind or blind you. Therefore they either stay away from these or they redefine them to make them into something they are not, and usually extend grace only upon themselves to cover their evil works (Jude 1:4). They redefine their meaning so as to control people under the guise of grace and truth – which is not grace or truth. This can all be seen for the lie it is by the fruit it produces. By their fruits alone you will know them (Mt 7:20).
Hear Oh Israel
Let’s go back and take a look at the context of Ezekiel 37. This is a word to Israel, a secular nation, not to the Spirit-filled people of God. God’s chosen people and nation, but a secular people for the most part. To put this on God’s blood-bought spirit-filled people today is an antichrist move against them. It is against the spirit of God in them. Therefore, it is against God. Using God’s word against God – this thing ought not to be (Jam 3:10).
Back on the Farm
While Brother Stair was in jail (not prison) in 2018, Dennis Larivee [the man pimping out his wife to the prophet] took down Sister Ann’s painting of the Dry Bones that was in the Dining Hall – and he burned it. I guess he didn’t think it was dry enough.
To which Brother Connelly and Dennis got into a heated one. Yes, this kind of “Christian” behavior is typical on the Farm. After all, they are under the spirit of Brother Stair, and with that, all the demonic spirits that Brother Stair operates in and allows on the land. We all had to deal with and fight these spirits when we lived there. Brother Stair would say it was us or that we let those spirits on the land – when we never had those spirits on us in the first place. We didn’t bring them, they were already there seeking to devour us (1Pt 5:8). Since everyone eventually leaves, those spirits would have left with them. Unless they were with the one common denominator that hasn’t left – RG Stair.
What this leader fails to realize is the spirits come from the top down. Beware who you chose to put yourself under for you will be subject to the spirits that they are subject to and allow to run free in their lives. And we know what wicked demonic sexual perverse spirits Brother Stair lets roam free and control him, don’t we?
How’s That Working Out For You?
This false teaching of the Dry Bones, like many others, begs the question: What fruit has it produced in the hearers thereof? For decades Brother Stair has heaped this abuse on God’s people for them being dry because they don’t hear Brother Stair’s words. These are not the same people. The constant turnover at the Ministry that Overcomers the saints (Rev 13:7 ) has one constant common denominator – Prophet Brother Stair. Yet this prophet cannot foresee that it is he that remains the same throughout the decades. That it is he that is the constant problem.
Bro Stair is always pointing out that they are dry. When in vs 11 it is God’s people Israel (the dry bones) that are acknowledging their state, Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off. Contrast that with Brother Stair being the one who condemns them as dry, and makes them dry. Further, he takes away their hope and cuts them off. That’s what the bones realized. That’s not what the prophet is supposed to be doing to them.
This misuse and abuse of scripture by Brother Stair is not nourishing the bones, nor ever has. It has only nourished Brother Stair’s grandiose narcissism to where he has waxed more abusive and vulgar, and rages in his anger and hatred toward God’s people – more and more.
What we don’t find here is Brother Stair actually saying the word that the Lord gave the prophet to say over the people. You find Brother Stair only saying, “Dry bones! Hear the word of the Lord”. That’s it! Never speaking what God told the prophet Ezekiel to speak over the dry bones. And Stair wonders why they’re still dry.
Brother Stair will not speak God’s words here over God’s people because Brother Stair does not speak peace to God’s people. This is not a chapter of insult and abuse for the dry bones – as Brother Stair makes it to be. No! This chapter is about God giving spirit and life to His people. Equipping them for battle as an army. Bringing them out of their graves. This is God pouring out His blessing on His people. Something Brother Stair does not do. Stair wouldn’t want to be a Joel Osteen now would he? No, this prophet doesn’t even have the fear Balaam had to not curse God’s people (Num 22:12).
Throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse
[community living, all things in common]
My son, do not walk in the way with them.
Keep your feet from their path, for their feet run to evil
(Pr 1:14-16 NIV84, NASB)
The Evil that Men Do
Like one of his callers said, “You can’t do evil like that because Christ is in you.” [The caller was assuming that Stair was incapable of doing said evil because the called assumed Stair had Christ in him] We all know that if Christ were in Brother Stair that he would not behave the way he does (that’s what the caller was saying [and believing]). If Stair did do evil he would be in sackcloth and ashes repenting, not justifying himself as he always does.
It is by this strong-arm harsh brazen Jezebel spirit that Brother Stair convinces his listeners that he has done no evil [not his viewers that live or have lived with him – they know the truth]. For if he had done the evil he was arrested for he would certainly be of a different spirit than what we see now. This is the deception [that he’s done no wrong (Pr 30:20)] and the intent of that deception [that listeners like the caller and $ supporters believe him to be without sin].
Stop listening to teaching that contradicts what you know is right. A worthless witness cares nothing for truth—he enjoys his sinning too much. (Pr 19:27-28 TLB)
